HST Rebate Information: Under current Government of Canada and Ontario rules, eligible first-time home buyers may qualify for an HST rebate on a newly constructed home, potentially covering up to 100% of the federal portion of HST on homes valued up to $1 million. Ontario’s enhanced new housing rebate may also provide eligible purchasers with up to $80,000 of the provincial portion of HST for qualifying purchases under the applicable conditions. The temporary Ontario enhanced rebate generally applies to qualifying builder purchase agreements entered into between April 1, 2026, and March 31, 2027. As Fonthill Abbey’s sales began on February 28, 2023, this temporary rebate would generally not apply to an original purchase agreement from that period. Eligibility for any HST rebate depends on the purchaser’s circumstances and the applicable requirements.
