TAS traces its roots to the 1980s, when Babak and Tooran Mortazavi founded the company in Toronto as a custom home builder, delivering more than 120 homes during its first two decades. Over time, TAS expanded into ground-up mixed-use and residential development, with Mazyar Mortazavi joining the family business and now serving as President & CEO, having led its evolution for more than 20 years. Today, TAS focuses primarily on real estate development and asset management across the Greater Toronto Area, with an active portfolio and development pipeline totaling approximately 4.5 million square feet as of January 2026. Its portfolio includes condominiums, purpose-built rental housing, mixed-use developments and townhomes, with projects designed around community connection, sustainability and urban livability. TAS places emphasis on climate-conscious development, affordability, social connection and community engagement, incorporating local consultation and sustainability considerations into its projects. Notable milestones include M5V, identified by TAS as Toronto’s first LEED Gold-certified condominium, and Kingston & Co., which received an Award of Merit at the 2021 Toronto Urban Design Awards.
