Parallax Development Corporation is a Toronto-based real estate developer founded in 1981, with more than 35 years of development experience across multiple asset classes and markets. The company began with a focus on retail shopping plazas and has since expanded its portfolio to include high-rise and mid-rise residential condominiums, street-front retail, office buildings, mixed-use facilities, and public-private partnerships. Parallax’s official portfolio records more than 75 completed projects and developments, with properties and projects spanning the Greater Toronto Area, other parts of Canada, and the United States. The company’s current leadership includes Principals Stafford Lawson, Nigel Lawson, and Michael Binder, supported by an internal development and construction team. Its residential work includes condominium developments such as South Forest Hill Residences, Queen Central, Theory Condominiums, 199 Church Condos, and Grid Condos. Parallax describes its development philosophy as viewing opportunities from different angles, identifying gaps in neighbourhoods and markets and applying a flexible, long-term approach to development. Its stated customer approach includes support from suite selection and finishes through financing and move-in guidance, with an emphasis on maintaining long-term relationships with purchasers, partners, and other stakeholders. The company’s current portfolio continues to focus on residential, mixed-use, retail, and other diversified real estate developments, reflecting the broad asset-class strategy it has followed since its establishment.
